Training Events

GCSSA events offer many opportunities for volunteers to participate in serving the local churches. In addition, volunteers may attend those portions of the program during which they are not assigned for free.

Some service options include:

• Setting chairs, signs and equipment the day before the event begins
• On-site registration and conference packet distribution
• Food set up and coordination for lunches and refreshments
• Guiding participants to workshop and seminar rooms

Administrative Work

The GCSSA office processes registrations and convention materials prior to training events, and mailings throughout the year. As an office volunteer you may:

• Enter registration information or mailing list updates into the computer
• Prepare convention registration packets and materials
• Assist with envelope stuffing or other general clerical needs

Ministry Resource Teams

Ministry teams currently in development include:

• Discipleship & Curriculum Resources Advisory Group to recommend discipleship, educational, and training resources to churches and create a church resource center
• Regional Conference Planning Committees Fall institute on Creative Teaching & Discipleship, Hispanic Church Teaching Ministries, Urban Teaching Ministries, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Indiana, Quad Cities
• Discipleship Outcomes Task Force
• Workshop Planning Committee
• Long-Range Planning Team
• Fundraising Team
• Teaching & Discipleship eJournal Team
