TEACHING & DISCIPLESHIP CONVENTION

The 2008 Midwest Teaching & Discipleship Convention is returning to the Forest View Educational Center! There will be over 1,000 pastors, children’s ministers, youth pastors, adult small group leaders, teachers, church leaders, and lay people from all over the Upper Midwest and from all denominations, urban and suburban churches, churches large and small. In addition to the 100 workshops being taught, there will be double plenary sessions each day and double lunch periods in the exhibit area.

GCSSA (originally named Greater Chicago Sunday School Association in 1941) began as a cooperative effort of churches to help strengthen Sunday schools in the Chicago area. Now, over sixty years later, GCSSA is dedicated not only to Sunday School and Christian Education, but the empowerment of all teaching and making of disciples in churches throughout the Upper Midwest. One of the unique characteristics of GCSSA events has always been their multi-ethnicity. People from urban churches and suburban churches, from Hispanic, Asian, African-American, and white churches all interacting together for the purpose of making disciples.

This year we are also serving lunch and coffee, drinks, and refreshments throughout the day in the Food Service Area right in the middle of the exhibit hall. Each exhibitor will receive two complimentary lunch tickets for both Friday and Saturday lunches. Additional lunch tickets may be purchased at a discounted price.

Set-up is Thursday afternoon, March 27, 2008, from 1:00–5:00 pm (evening set-up is available upon request). A complimentary deli lunch will be provided.
